When the City works, business works. And when business works, we all work.
Meet your new City CouncilCalgary is the entrepreneurial capital of Canada. Businesses create the jobs that support our families, attract top talent from around the world, and contribute to the programs, services and organizations that make our city vibrant. Put simply, businesses help create a better place to live for all Calgarians.
But these past few years our city has been hit hard. With over 75,000 Calgarians looking for work, we have one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. It’s time to get Calgary back to work.
We want to build A Calgary that Works – one that creates jobs and enables businesses to flourish. Right now, we are smothering businesses with a tax and regulatory system that is both broken and unpredictable. This costs jobs for Calgarians.
Fortunately we can fix it, and the Chamber members have put forward a set of three straightforward recommendations that would get Calgary working.
It starts with our City government implementing new policy to be more efficient, equitable and entrepreneurial.
